I can remember times as a new work from home virtual assistant where I thought I had to work 7 days a week just to land a client, talk about burn out! Not only did I suffer from sleep deprivation (just like a mom of a new born baby) but I also didn’t enjoy much of life. I knew something needed to change, and fast! Thankfully the Lord heard my cries (and whines) and sent me a VA Coach. Diana took me under her wings and taught me many things about the VA industry, she also taught me that I needed to take the weekends OFF!
She lovingly reminded me on (several) occasions that I needed to recharge my battery (so to speak) and not be afraid of losing time by taking time to schedule fun, family and a hobby. At first I didn’t believe that my business could grow, but she was a veteran virtual assistant (mom, coach and author) so she must know what she’s talking about
That’s when I became purposeful to schedule two days off a week. At first it was so stressful for me emotionally to NOT be working every waking hour, I even went through a period of false guilt-thinking that I was letting my family down because I wasn’t working 7 days a week!
If you are going through this “false guilt, work overload” type of mindset, perhaps an article that I wrote in 2008 (you can read it here ) can help you move on to better places in your business and family life.
