Once you have found your target market, you will want to make sure that you are consistently marketing your business even when your current client base is full. You don’t want to suffer from the “feast or famine” unbalance in your business. Don’t feel bad if you find yourself going through times of a financial drought, these slow times can actually be a great time to revamp your marketing message. One way to keep your business running smoothly is to make a marketing plan that includes action steps. I began my marketing plan by asking myself the following questions:

  • Am I scheduling time each week to market my business?
  • Am I targeting my perfect client?
  • Am I providing useful information?

Those questions help me draft what I call my “Marketing Circle” and I wanted to share that with you today. (You can download the .pdf for free on my website Buckeye V.A.)

The Marketing Circle includes the following 8 ways you can market your virtual assistant business and includes online and offline ideas:

  1. Products:  Info-products that are physical such as: DVD’s,CD’s, Scripts, Books or e-products such as: reports, check lists, e-books. The great thing about products is that you can create your own or sign-up as an affiliate and make money promoting other professional products.
  2. Content Distribution: Articles, Guest Blog Posts, Press Releases, Video and Audio.
  3. Podcast: Host your own and seek interviews
  4. Offline: Speaking engagements, Breakfast networking groups, coffee dates, direct targeted mailing campaign
  5. Website: blog regularly, leave great comments on other blogs, use your tags (keywords)
  6. Social Media: Interact, Post questions on your Fan Page, post your blog post or newest interview on groups your target market frequents
  7. Tours: host or join a book or blog tour
  8. Schedule: make yourself market your own business effectively one day per week, no matter what!

All 8 areas work hand-in-hand, you don’t want to over use just one area but really mix it up. For example: You can write an original article, submit it as a guest blog post, then after the blog tour is complete,  re-use that article and create a video. Don’t be afraid to recycle your content just make sure that you follow any rules or guidelines that have been set in place by the website owner.
